"I immediately conjure rich wildlife and the words Okavango Delta when I think of Botswana. But there is so much more to this country that is mostly flat and bedded in Kalahari sand. The Tsodilo Hills are situated to the west and are spiritual home to the San (Bushman) tribe. These peaceful people have adorned the overhangs of the Mother, Father and Child Hills with magnificent engravings and paintings symbolising their beliefs and traditions. Enormous salt pans serve as a central arena to a country where completely different ecosystems cohabit. Long distances link each isolated destination and yet there are well-surfaced roads and facilities along the way."
