Impalila Island Lodge - eastern tip of the Caprivi Strip, where four countries meet
"A private, peaceful haven which can be reached by boat or small aircraft. Some might unfairly judge Impalila as a fisherman's paradise. My tummy rumbles when I remember meals that I swore I could not indulge - but couldn't resist. Waking in the morning to the sound of the Zambezi River bubbling below my bedroom verandah, I relished the space and privacy as well as speed boating down the Chobe River to watch the wildlife in their daily commute to the river's edge for water.
Colin and I stayed at Impalila for two nights but I would have enjoyed more time. I had just begun to unwind and didn't want to lose the feeling! Our thanks to Dusty and Karen, who are considerate and entertaining hosts."
