Sanyati Lodge - overlooking Lake Kariba "Kariba's postcard image is of mysteriously waterlogged trees reflecting off an enormous, rippling water surface. The lake shore of Matusadona National Park is always dotted with snorting impala, waterbuck and the occasional hippo barging through fresh green growth. Sanyati is a deep-sided rocky gorge that snakes inland, away from the open lake. Birds of prey lazily drift past high cliffs and the silence is checked by lapping water and distant roaring echoes of territorial lion. Mysteries lie hidden within this massive chasm of water. Sanyati Lodge is perched on the side of a rolling hill, which gradually descends into the lake. The view from the lounge and all the chalets is north, over the water's horizon and into Africa north of the Zambezi River. A string of neatly paved pathways, stretching left and right, connect all the lodges and facilities.
